HBCSD Announces New Sowers Middle School Assistant Principal

Michelle BradyHuntington Beach City School District (HBCSD) is pleased to announce the selection of Mrs. Michelle Brady as assistant principal of Sowers Middle School.

Mrs. Brady has 23 years of experience in education, 17 of those within HBCSD. She most recently served as the 21st-century classroom teacher on special assignment (TOSA). As a TOSA, she planned and facilitated district-wide professional development and implementation of technology integration through training and modeling of 21st-century skills and strategies. These professional development sessions included coaching and demonstrating model lessons in preschool through eighth grade. Mrs. Brady also facilitated the onboarding of technology in modernized classrooms and implementing of district-wide programs and platforms.

Prior to her work as a TOSA, Mrs. Brady taught fourth and fifth grade at Huntington Seacliff Elementary. In addition to her experience in the classroom, she has served on the LCAP Advisory Committee, Directors' Council, and as induction lead mentor, acting as the liaison between the Orange County Department of Education Induction Program and District mentors and candidates. Mrs. Brady is recognized for her organized and thoughtful leadership and her ability to build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and the community. 

“We are fortunate to have such a talented and experienced member as part of our team,” said Dr. Renee Polk-Johnson, principal at Sowers Middle School. “Michelle's passionate commitment to education and her demonstrated capacity as a leader will immeasurably benefit the students and staff here at our school,” she said. 

Mrs. Brady received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, Administrative Services Credential, and her Master of Science in Educational Leadership from California State University, Fullerton; she also earned her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from National University and California Polytechnic University, Pomona.
