Huntington Beach City School District (HBCSD) is pleased to announce the selection of Mrs. Janna George as a program specialist joining the Student Services team.
Mrs. George has more than 20 years of experience in education, and since 2017, has served as the Student Services Coordinator for Kinetic Academy. In this role, she provided leadership and guidance to the staff and school administration in the provision of high-quality special education programs and the improvement of student outcomes. Mrs. George also managed and implemented social-emotional and student support programs and was in charge of the oversight of state and legal special education compliance. Mrs. George fostered collaboration among administrators, teachers, and other related service providers to strengthen the student support process and provide targeted support for students. Prior to working at Kinetic, Mrs. George served as an instructional assistant, education specialist, and program supervisor and has experience working in non-public school settings.
Recognized for her excellent collaboration, Mrs. George exemplifies a high level of professionalism and problem-solving skills to meet the needs of staff and students. She is also enthusiastic about returning to HBCSD, as she attended Sowers Middle School and graduated from Edison High School.
“We are excited to welcome Janna George to our Student Services team; her experience and commitment to supporting staff in addressing student needs will be a strong addition to the work we are doing,” said Executive Director of Student Services Megan Kempner.
Mrs. George received her Masters Degree in Education and Human Development from George Washington University; she obtained her Masters in Special Education and her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Psychology from Chapman University.
